Courtney Lee Schamel (formerly Zamudio) is a native of Traverse City, Michigan. She graduated from Northwestern Michigan College with an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement. Upon graduation she was employed by the Leelanau County Sheriff's Department as a Sheriff's Deputy. Courtney later went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology/Sociology. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, Courtney went to work for the State of Oklahoma's Office of Juvenile Affairs in Norman, Oklahoma. Part of working at the Office of Juvenile Affairs meant spending time in the courtroom advocating on behalf of the juveniles on her caseload, in turn igniting her passion for the area of law and trial advocacy. Courtney left the Office of Juvenile Affairs to attend law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law where she graduated with a Juris Doctorate.
While in law school Courtney competed in the American College of Trial Lawyers' National Trial Competition and was a member of various organizations. She also served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association and had the opportunity to intern at the United States Attorney's Office - Western District of Oklahoma and Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office, where she assisted with felony domestic violence cases.
Upon being admitted as a member of the Oklahoma Bar, Courtney worked in private practice until opening a law firm of her own. Since being admitted, Courtney has continued her training by attending the Trial Advocacy Institute. She is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Section and Ruth Bader Ginsburg Inn of Court.
Courtney is also a reservist in the United States Army; Courtney is a Captain in the Judge Advocate General's Corp where she has been serving since 2017.
When not practicing law, you'll find Courtney spending time with her children, Adyson, Declan, and Anneliese; her husband, and dogs, Tucker and Biscuit. She also enjoys traveling, hiking, scuba diving, and watching college football!

Prior to joining the firm Alex served six years with the Oklahoma Army National Guard where she obtained the rank of Sergeant. She deployed during Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom 08’-09’. She is extremely proud to be a veteran.
After serving her country Alex began serving the citizens of Cleveland County in 2011 as a Detention Officer then was quickly promoted to Deputy Sheriff in the patrol division. She takes great pride in the work she did to help bridge the gap between law enforcement and the communities in which she served. During her time as a Deputy she received several awards including the prestigious Norman NEXT Under 40 Award in 2019.
Alex felt that she was being called to serve people in a greater capacity and in January 2018 she began attending the University of Oklahoma. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice.
She left law enforcement in 2019 and began pursing her passion for changing our criminal justice system. Her future goals are to attend law school and one day become a judge. She has been at the firm since September 2020 and has been Courtney’s “right hand woman.” She is dedicated to ensure that our clients feel safe, heard and understand the process every step of the way. You will also catch her and Lindsay singing, laughing and fighting like sisters.
When Alex is not at the office then you can find her spending time with her family and their dogs (that she is obsessed with). She loves her Jeep, the mountains, all things the sky, traveling, sprinkled donuts, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, music, poetry and tattoos (check out that incredible sleeve).
